Review - Solace

Solace is a mystery thriller film directed by Afonso Poyart and stars Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Dean
Solace is an interesting story about a detective in the FBI, who after not being able to stop a serial killer, calls in his psychic friend to help.

Morgan, Abbie Cornish and Colin Farrell.

This film had a unusual release with hardly any promotion, i hadn't heard about the film until a few days before it came out which is strange because this film seems easy enough to market and they should of tried to market it because its a good film.

Review - Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is a action spny film directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Alec Baldwin.

This film is the fifth in the Mission Impossible franchise, usually at the fifth film the franchise starts losing steam and the audience hopes they stop making these films but that couldn't be any further from the truth with Rogue Nation, it is arguably the best film in the series and is thrilling from start to finish.

In Rogue Nation, Ethan (Cruise) and his team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate - an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.

Review - Minions

Minions is the newest film in the Despicable Me series, it is Directed by Pierre Coffin & Kyle Balda and stars Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney & Geoffrey Rush.
I'm glad that they decided to make a Minions movie, the Despicable Me movies are good, but everyone watches them for the Minions and they are always a stand-out, but the problem with making a movie about side characters is will they be able to hold the screen for a full movie? And they do!

This film is a lot of fun and i was laughing the whole way through.

Review - Man Up

Man Up is the new British Romantic-Comedy film starring Simon Pegg and Lake Bell, directed by Ben Palmer.
The film is about Nancy (Bell) who is unlucky in love, she gets mistaken for a stranger's blind date, Jack (Pegg) and decides to play along and ends up falling for him.

My problem with romantic comedies is that the stories are always predictable, you always know whats going to happen because they all follow a similar formula, so its all about the execution, how the Director tells the story, and i'm glad to say Man Up is a good romantic comedy.

Review - San Andreas

San Andreas Movie Poster
San Andreas is a action-adventure disaster film directed by Brad Peyton and  stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Carla Gugino, Paul Giamatti and Ioan Gruffudd.

San Andreas follows an Los Angeles Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot, Ray (Johnson) and his ex wife, Emma (Gugino) as they search for their daughter after a devastating earthquake hits.

This type of film really isn't for me, disaster films are my least favourite genre, i just get bored from all the CGI destruction everywhere, my brain just turns off and my eyes glaze over, but i didn't mind San Andreas, i enjoyed it actually!

Review - Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is a 2015, American sci-fi, mystery, adventure film, directed by Brad Bird and starring George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie and Raffey Cassidy.
Tomorrowland's advertising has remained very secretive with the plot of the film and i don't want to spoil it either so i will do a simple premise for the film taken from Disney:
Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as "Tomorrowland".

Review - Big Game

Big Game is a action-adventure film, directed and co-written by Jamari Helander. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, Onmi Tommila, Jim Broadbent and Ray Stevenson.

Big Game is a crazy film, when i first saw the trailer for it i was amazed it was a real film. The film is about Oskari (Tommila), a 13 year old, when you turn 13 in his family, you have to go into the forest and hunt, while The President of the United States (Jackson)  has crashed in the same forest thanks to Air Force One exploding, so a very cowardly President is defended by a 13 year old.
