Review - Dragon Ball Super: Episode 4

After a weeks hiatus Dragon Ball Super is back! Bulma's birthday party is in full swing and has some ridiculous bingo gifts, Emperor Pilaf is back! and Goku finally learns about Beerus.

The episode mostly revolved around Emperor Pilaf and his two lackeys, Shu and Mai. Who were important characters back in the original Dragon Ball series, for some unexplained reason they are children now and are stranded on an island. Pilaf's dragon radar starts bleeping, we find out at Bulma's party that she is going to have a bingo event and the prizes are all ridiculously expensive, including a castle! Trunks shows Goten the main prize and its revealed that Bulma has collected all of the Dragon Balls and the winner will get a wish granted. Pilaf and his crew sneak on board Bulma's cruise ship, and are greeted by Goten and Trunks who offer them food and into the party. This part was really funny, when Pilaf and his crew appear its always comedic, they are so stupid and bad at being villains its just entertaining to see and with Goten and Trunks trying to be friends with them it should lead to some funny things in upcoming episodes.
Pilaf, Shu & Mai
The other part of this episode which was rather quick was King Kai worrying over Beerus coming to his planet, he finally spills to Goku of who Beerus is and how powerful he is, Beerus then arrives at King Kai's planet and it seems like we will get Goku v. Beerus in next weeks episode which will be awesome!

It seems like we are just getting the Battle of Gods movie made into the show now, and we have to get used to it, it seems like a weird choice to adapt the 2 films that have only just came out, it is just a bit boring to have to watch the same story-line over again.
This episode had some great comedy with the appearance from Pilaf and his gang, but most of the episode felt like filler until we get the big fight next week.

3/5
